Sabine Bernbeck, MD
Primary Care, Family Medicine Huntington Beach
Dr. Sabine Bernbeck has been in practice in Huntington Beach since 1995, providing total family care including Pediatrics. She graduated from Medical School in Cologne, Germany in 1990, and the came to the United States, earning a second medical degree from the University of Southern California in 1992. She holds medical licenses in both countries.
After graduating from USC she completed her specialty training in Family Practice at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, generally considered one of the top programs in Southern California. Upon completion she pursued sub-specialty training in women's health and obstetrics prior to entering private practice.
She volunteers in urgent medical needs for the Seal Beach Battered Women Shelter and Pathway to Independence program, helping young female college students with troubled pasts. She lives with her husband and has two children, born in 1995 and 1998. Her hobbies include surfing, playing pickleball and reading.
Julia Harris, MD
Primary Care, Family Medicine Huntington Beach
Dr. Julia Harris joined Beach Family Doctors in August 2000. She graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1997 with honors in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. Dr. Harris then entered family medicine residency training in Daytona Beach, FL.
Dr. Harris was born and raised in Southern California where she graduated from Fountain Valley High School and completed her undergraduate training at the University of California San Diego. She lives with her husband and two children, born 2006 and 2009.
She enjoys many outdoor activities including surfing, scuba diving, skiing, and hiking.
Andrew Mleynek, DO
Primary Care, Family Medicine Huntington Beach
Dr. Andrew Douglas Mleynek joined Beach Family Doctors Medical Group in 2006 after five years of private practice in family medicine. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas Health Science Center finishing in the top 15% of his medical school class. He then completed residency training in family medicine at the University of Nevada in Reno where he served as chief resident for the program.
Dr. Mleynek received his undergraduate degree in biology from San Diego State University. Growing up in Laguna Hills, CA, he calls southern California his lifelong home.

Diagnosis and treatment of disease and illness are but stepping-stones in the process path of human life. The practice of medicine must be a collaborative partnership of physician and patient, both seeking the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices and relying on the science of medicine as an adjunct to returning the body to its natural state of health." -Dr. Mleynek.
Julie Bolton, DO
Dr. Julie Bolton was attracted to medicine because it is both emotionally satisfying and intellectually stimulating. It is a privilege for her to get to know patients and guide them to live healthy lives both physically and psychologically. As an educator of future physicians, Dr. Bolton also loves the lifelong learning that is required to effectively teach the practice of medicine.
Dr. Bolton gains the most satisfaction in her practice when she can help her patients feel relief, whether it is helping with an acute problem or treating a chronic diagnosis to prevent disease progression. She feels most successful in caring for her patients when improved health and reduced risk is achieved through her partnership with a patient and is especially elated when this involves cultivating healthier lifestyle choices.
Dr. Bolton’s patients describe her as both approachable and down to earth. She meets her patients where they are and partners with them to come up with a plan that is realistic and works for them to achieve their health goals. It is important to Dr. Bolton that her patients feel heard, and she takes the time to really listen to their concerns. Dr. Bolton is also conversational in Spanish and can communicate well with patients and families who are more comfortable conversing with her in Spanish. Her great compassion and ability to listen is in part attributed to her being a small-town reporter prior to becoming a physician – a job which has similarities to being a family medicine doctor, where it is all about getting the story.
Dr. Bolton believes our health is profoundly intertwined with the health of our communities and the planet. In Dr. Bolton’s spare time, she enjoys yoga, gardening, roller-skating, and at 50, began to learn to surf. The best part of her life is spending time with her husband and son and making home cooked meals for friends and family.
Wernher Ovalle, MD
Dr. Wernher Ovalle is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician who has been in private practice for 23 years. He completed his training at the UCSD School of Medicine with honors, and University of Washington, Seattle for residency training (top 5%). Over the years, Dr. Ovalle has cultivated a patient-centric model of care and was recognized in 2024 for having the “top patient satisfaction score” among all GNP primary care doctors. He enjoys writing, traveling and spending time with his wife and three boys.
Jennilyn Lopez, PA-C
Jennilyn Lopez, Physician Assistant, joined Beach Family Doctors in 2012. She is board-certified and licensed by the California State Medical Board. She conducts physical exams, diagnoses conditions, orders and interprets labs, writes prescriptions, and does minor procedures.
Jennilyn received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in 2001 and a master’s degree from Emory University School of Medicine, Physician Assistant Program in 2007. During her time at Emory University, she was the Class Secretary of her Physician Assistant program and volunteered at the Good Samaritan Clinic and the South Georgia Farmworker Health Project in Georgia.
Born and raised on the island of Guam, Jennilyn feels a close connection to the ocean. She has called Southern California her home since 1994. Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and 3 children. Her hobbies include surfing, yoga, reading, and trying new foods.
Lucy Lee, NP-C
Lucy Lee is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in Family Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing during her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She then worked as a Registered Nurse at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. After a few years, she continued her studies for a Master of Science in Nursing at UCLA to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Lucy started at Beach Family Doctors in 2015 right out of NP school. Since then, the practice has become more than just a job that gives an abundance of free food, but a community of friends and mentors who share the same vision to help the Orange County community. It is a privilege to serve patients, to meet their families, and to walk alongside them through different seasons of life.
On her days off, she likes to spend time with her husband and three kids. You can find her exploring different coffee or boba shops with friends, spending time at church events, or volunteering at her kids’ school.
Anna Nguyen, PA-C
Anna Nguyen started at Beach Family Doctors in January 2023. Anna is a board-certified Physician Assistant that can obtain patient history, conduct physical exam, order labs, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, interpret results, and perform procedures.
Anna attended University of California Irvine where she received her Bachelors in Biological Sciences. Anna received her Master of Physician Assistant from Chapman University in 2022. Prior to obtaining her masters, Anna has worked in at a dermatology clinic and later did clinical research in both fields of dermatology and gastroenterology.
Anna is born and raised in Orange County. You can find her rocking a karaoke session, eating some good food, or planning her next traveling spot over her weekend.
Ashlee Page, PA-C
Ashlee Page is a board-certified Physician Assistant who joined Beach Family Doctors in February 2023. She strives to provide compassionate care and educate patients, empowering them in their own health. She started off working in orthopedic surgery and has a passion for getting patients back to a healthy and active lifestyle.
Ashlee grew up in Orange County and completed her undergraduate education in Biopsychology at UC Santa Barbara. She then moved to New Orleans to complete her Master of Health Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana.
In her spare time, Ashlee enjoys going to the beach, hiking, and traveling.
Abigale Schucker, NP-BC
Abigale Schucker is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Eastern Michigan University. She has worked for over 13 years at many health organizations including Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, NYU Langone and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, and Loma Linda Medical Center in Loma Linda, California.
As the 2020 global pandemic began Abby started earning her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Loma Linda University while simultaneously working in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. After graduating in 2023 she chose beach life and began at Beach Family Doctors as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Her career goals are to keep the community healthy and she strongly believes in preventive medicine. When she is not working she likes to stay active by hiking, doing yoga, traveling, volunteering, and taking adult education classes like ceramics, or spending time with family and friends.
